Both the camera and the monitor are mains powered, the monitor also has the option of batteries.
Sound is picked up from the camera’s microphone and transmitted through the monitor's built in speaker
This camera can also be used for surveillance purposes as well e.g. monitor your front door, garage, car, pet etc.
